DREAMS, BUSINESSES, AMBIANCES, SEX, ILLUSIONS AND VICTORIES OF THE CREATOR OF LENZUOLISSIMI, THE ENTREPRENEUR IN THE BERLUSCONI AND OBAMA BED

Exit “The sheets of power” (Armando Curcio Editore). A beautiful Italian story: Michele Cascavilla tells the stages of his successful brand “Lenzuolissimi“, together with the director of Novella 2000 and Visto Roberto Alessi. Preface by Silvio Berlusconi.
The book will initially be on sale on the Amazon and Curciostore web platforms, while at the beginning of 2017 it will arrive in the bookstore. The two authors will donate the proceeds of their sales to charity.

HISTORY

Michele is a young manager in a famous company of household linen, which leads, among other things, to be a supplier of the G8 held in 2009 in L’Aquila. Success at work, success with women. He does not seem to miss anything in life. But he wants something more. Tired of pats on his shoulders and enough, he resigns, leaves the mythical place to pursue his dream: doing business in the field of bed linen. He knows it’s not easy and, in fact, it will not be easy. From banks a big entrepreneurs, there are many doors that close in the face as soon as it speaks of “start up“, a term that in Italy just does not like. But, in a country that does not believe in young people and new ideas, Michele has the great merit of not giving up. Until one day a friend’s call arrives …

“The book tells my business story, but also my private life. There are also numerous anecdotes about my clients “, says Michele Cascavilla. Like the time that “rolled up” the blankets to Barack Obama “I was at the G8 of L’Aquila, an experience that was very important for me, and on that occasion my company provided the sheets to all the heads of state, including the president American, but also Silvio Berlusconi, then premier at the head of the summit, I met him in person, I owe him so much, he was a point of reference for me “.

“The story of Michele Cascavilla is a story of this kind – writes Silvio Berlusconi in the preface – It is the story of a man who believes in what he does, believes in the quality of the product and the work, which puts his energies and his skills at the service of an enterprise, with intelligence and with a spirit of sacrifice, means investments, jobs, circulating money, the production of wealth for all, not just for the entrepreneur. they could be drawn from money, because the purpose of their action is not money but the company, it is these women and men who make our country great, despite all the difficulties that make the attempt to do business in Italy often heroic “.

THE PREFACE OF SILVIO BERLUSCONI

“This book tells a good story: the story of an entrepreneur, a man of doing, a brave person who in Italy chooses a difficult and exciting job, that of creating a business, his story, his words, remember another young entrepreneur, who worked in the Milan of the 60s, not in textiles but in construction, and had a dream: to build houses, neighborhoods, an entire city that was not just a roof over people’s heads, that it would become a beautiful, welcoming place, full of greenery, services, spaces for children and the elderly. The young man saw himself closing several doors, others managed to open them by resorting to all his determination, to a little improvisation and face to face, to a certain necessary dose of luck.

That young man of course was me. I remember very well, as if it were today, the anxiety before an appointment with a potential lender, or with a potential client. I remember the satisfaction, which is not only economic, in seeing my ideas come true and succeed. The story of Michele Cascavilla is a story of this kind. It is the story of a man who believes in what he does, believes in the quality of the product and of work, which puts his energies and abilities at the service of an enterprise, with intelligence and a spirit of sacrifice.

Business means investments, jobs, circulating money, production of wealth for everyone, not just for the entrepreneur. Many entrepreneurs, on the contrary, renounce all the pleasures they could derive from money, because the purpose of their actions is not money but the company. It is these women and men who make our country great, despite all the difficulties that often make the attempt to do business in Italy heroic. These are companies that make Made in Italy a brand of absolute excellence in the field of beautiful things, quality products, fabrics, fashion, furniture, food and wine, design. Doing business in Italy means clashing every day with problems all too well known, from poor infrastructure to an exorbitant tax burden, from the bureaucracy that suffocates to inefficient and often arbitrary justice, from the cost of labor to a syndication often short-sighted and uncooperative.

But it also means believing in a marvelous country, capable of doing extraordinary things, it means finding the best collaborators in the world, means tapping into a heritage of style, creativity and tradition without equal, it means trusting the country that is capable of doing things extraordinary in extraordinary moments. For this reason I like to remember that Cascavilla, not yet an entrepreneur, at the time manager of a prestigious brand, played a part in a dramatic but also extraordinary moment in the history of our country and of my governments: he took part in the wager of setting up in a few days, L’Aquila, devastated by the earthquake, the G8, thanks to which the powerful of the earth saw the disaster with their own eyes, and committed themselves to collaborating in the reconstruction.

The reflectors of the whole world on that occasion were lit up on the martyrdom of the city of Abruzzo and its territory. At L’Aquila – setting up the G8 facilities in record time and then providing a decent and safe home to those who had lost it – our country has made an exceptional undertaking. I am very proud to have guided this business as Prime Minister, and I am grateful to all those who have worked to make it possible. Michele Cascavilla is one of these people. This preface is also a way to say thank you “.
